Welcome to Pack 998 & Scouting!

Hello and welcome to Pack 998, we are excited to be a part of your families Scouting Adventure! This page provides information for new and existing Scouts on how to register for Scouting and our Pack. We accept new and existing Scouts year round.

This information is valid for our 2025/2026 Pack Year which runs August-May. It is updated in August each year in preparation for our next Pack Year and our Join Scouting Night in September. If you have any questions about registration or the Pack, please reach out to us via our Contact Us Page.

Registration Guide

The Pack has created a Registration Guide to help with the registration process as of 08/2025. Details from the guide are below.

Financial Assistance

Financial assistance is available to Scouts in need from Scouting BSA, NCAC and our Pack. Please speak with our Pack Master about how to request assistance.

New Scouts

1. Signup with my.scouting.org and register your scout (you will have to pay a new scout fee and the Scouting fees. As of 08/2024, those are: a National fee of $85, Scouting Life Magazine (Optional) cost of $15 and New Scout Registration Fee of $25. There is also a Council Participation Fee $80.

3. Pay Pack Dues – $75 (dues cover BSA fees for our adult leaders and pack essentials like awards and the Pinewood Derby). Dues should be paid by our October Pack Meeting on 10/17/25 and they can be paid via check or Venmo and instructions for those are below. For Scouts joining after January a pro-rated fee will be charged.

4. Complete Yearly Activities – Youth Protection Training & Health Forms (Introduction Included in September Pack Meeting).

Returning Scouts

3. Pay Membership Renewal Fees – Note as of 06/2024, your registration fees for National and Council will be paid directly to those organizations. You will receive an email within 60 days of your renewal date. For returning Scouts that should be in December.

4. Pay Pack Dues – Pack dues of $75 are due by the October Pack Meeting, 10/17/2025. For Scouts that transfer into the Pack in 2026 will have a pro-rated dues.

• Pay with Venmo to @PackNineNineEight-Treasurer
  • Please put a note in the payment with your scout’s name and “dues” so our treasurer can match it up with your registration and mark you paid, if you have multiple scouts you can combine, just be sure to list which scouts it is for.
  • QR code to pay from the app with Venmo for our pack so you are sure you are paying the right person.
